Hello Everyone!
Wanted to stop in and introduce myself.
I am a mother of a wonderful 8 year old boy and about 6 months ago, I finally thought it would be a good time to lose the extra baby weight....yep, that's right, I've waited 8 years!!!!!!
I have lost most of it now and am trying to keep it off. That is my biggest challenge.
Now that I see myself at my target weight, it is hard to NOT go back to my unhealthy eating habits! (you always think, I can eat some of that now)
I am hoping for some great suggestions from others and will do my best to provide the same as well

I did a lot of rationalising around the 'holiday period'. Surely it is all about calories, does it matter if I just trade healthy foods for unhealthy ones? How about filling up on some very low calorie salad and then using most of my daily calories for junk foods?
I have come to my senses.
Eating junk is not without consequences. The consequences may be a little long-term, but they will come.
One thing that helped was taking a cholesterol test. I take one every year. This year's was 20% up on the previous year for total cholesterol. I repeated to check it wasn't a fluke.
For me, just for today, it is easier to avoid junk altogether instead of obsessing over how much is a reasonable amount.
Your solution may differ. Moderation works for some people.
