Hi there, my name is Riss. I'm 26 years old, 5'2", and about 220lbs. I know what you're probably thinking. According to every calculator out there, I'm considered Morbidly Obese. I tend to disagree. I know I'm big, but I just don't feel like I'm *that* big. I carry my weight pretty well for being a short girl. I'm proportional. :)
My short term goal would definitely be to get back under 200lbs. At my lowest weight, I was about 175lbs about 4 years ago. What happened? I broke my leg when I was thrown from a horse and spent 6 months sitting on a couch, three of which were completely non-weight bearing. It was a very tough battle. I gained about 30lbs. The rest of it? I got a new job 9 months ago. I get to sit infront of a desk for 40 hours a week now as opposed to before when I was working outside with horses for 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Long term goal? 150lbs. Or maybe even 170. Or 180. I'm not picky. Just... significantly less than where I am now. How's that. :D
What am I doing to acheive this goal? I'm about three weeks into a Planet Fitness gym membership. I've been going every day to wiggle my butt off on that #%@&!ed elliptical trainer for 40 minutes, and every other day doing a whole body's worth of strength training on top of it.
What am I not doing to help my goal? My food intake is in the pits. I'm a carb-a-holic. I tried the Atkins diet for about a week and just couldn't do it anymore. I'm trying to find that comfortable middle in there where I can balance my calories and carb intake with how much I should be eating to maintain weightloss with how much wiggling I'm doing in my day.
So far? I think I'm failing. I haven't gained weight, but I don't think I've lost anything yet. I have gained some muscle though. Ask my arms. There is a wee bit of muscle starting to poke out when I flex. :)
So anyway, wish me luck. I'm off to the gym to go wiggle my butt away. :)

Good Luck Riss... Gotta begin somewhere and i reckon you're in a good place.
Short term goals are definitely the way forward I think, so much easier to achieve and far less scary than some big number. Will you be posting your results to keep you motivated?
