Hey everyone! I'm brand new to this forum. Looking to make lots of new friends to share ups & downs with! I'm a 36 year old female in Alabama. I started running in February, 2010 & lost 35 pounds. While training for a half marathon, I overdid it and developed a femoral stress fracture that put me out of commission for almost 3 months.
I'm back on track now and feeling healthy, so now trying to build my running back up and setting a new goal of actually finishing a full marathon in 2011. I'm still 30 pounds overweight and I know that to be a better runner, I have to get the weight off!
That's enough about me for now! Look forward to some nice reading on the replies!

Shannon, I'm your guy. I have 39 lbs to lose myself. My name is Derek and I am 38. I don't have yahoo, but texting would work great for me.
Let me know! You can read about my story here:

and my journal about my weight loss so far is here:

BTW- I'm not much of a runner, however I watch the Biggest Loser on tv and always get motivated when I see people sign up for the 5k, 10k, and further runs. I can see myself trying one of those one day.

I am always fascinated by what it takes to train for and run a marathon. I honestly don't think my body would allow me to do that. I have had several knee surgeries and have had my hip replaced but I love to run I just can't do it for a long time. I look forward to living vicariously through you LOL! Hope that's okay? Keep posting progress.
