| Need Help for Weight Loss |

| I'm 16 and looking for a buddy or someone togive me advice on losing weight. I started gaining weight in about fifth grade. I'm currently 183 pounds and 5'5. Bascially, I want to be healthy for my self-esteem and health. I eat horribly and food is like an addiction for me. Please I need any help I can get!

I find that having a "real time" food diary (on paper) where I record what I am going to eat just before I eat it helps to keep me mindful of what I am doing (and quite frankly it slows me down too!).
It is also an educational tool as you can do calorie counting and make clever substitutions that would still allow you to spend a long time eating a lot of food but be slim with it (maybe not the ideal outcome, but better than what you have now?)
I also found mileage in a bunch of other suggestions I have come across - learning to do "slow eating" - learning all about healthy eating - other stuff too like Overeaters Anonymous

the way i kicked off my weight loss was with the no/lo diet where you try to take in as little carbohydrates as possible. they have some great diets on app store regarding to topic. the one i used is called no/lo diet from bsteknik.
it is a really good diet i lost 10 pounds the first week.
