So I've recently started a diet and exercise program with the hopes of losing 72 pounds. I'm already down 5! Anyway I have given up a lot for this plan. Most things haven't been that big of a deal...beer, cheese, butter, etc... But I really love coffee in the morning. I usually drink several cups with just a little sugarfree creamer. Does anyone know if this is ok? I really enjoy coffee and decaff isn't even an option for me. Any thoughts?

Thanks for any advice!

Well I'm actually trying to give up the coffee habit, but I've lost 40 pounds and I drink 2 cups a day.  Just make sure that coffee doesn't put you over your calorie limit for the day.

I agree, I just can't give up coffee either. I figure one step at a time! As long as it doesn't affect my ability to lose weight, I'm going to keep drinking it, and so far it hasn't Maybe after I'm not so focused on the weight loss I can move to kicking my coffee habit, but dropping that now while you're also trying to lose weight could prove to be too much all at once. Like the poster said before me, as long as you're not adding heavy cream and lots of sugar, which you're not, drink on!

Plus I think it's like anything, red wine, chocolate....one day it's good for you, the next day it's not

I love coffee! Hot, iced, latte, any of it!  I lost 50 pounds and never gave it up!  My doctor said there are plenty of studies showing that it is good for you.  A little sugar free creamer and Splenda never hurt anyone!  :coffee:

Thanks so much for the responses you guys! It's so encouraging to hear that weight loss is possible without having to give up every single pleasure. I just really enjoy coffee in the morning. And you're right Betty, it's just too much to give up everything. Plus I think we're doing pretty well if our only vice is coffee!

I hope you guys are having a great day! :coffee:
