Well I was watching TV. Saw a TBell commerical. Was curious. So I typed in their link and clicked the new item... some taco thing packed with chesse....
The thing has 580 calories
200 something from fat.
Ive never looked at any other of their items just kinda shocking to me.... 16gs of fat.

I used to go to Taco Bell and order 3 Beef Chalupa Supreme before I started dieting. When I first joined this site I looked it up and about umm.... did a dookie in the drawers. I was consuming 1,200 calories in one sitting.
I think the only thing I could eat at Taco Bell that won't give me a sudden burst in calories is two or three crunchy tacos, which contains 170 calories each (fresco style crunchy taco is 150 calories each). Of course there's the Fresco style where they replace the cheese and sauce ith salsa.
I drove around to different fast food places and requested a nutrition guide to keep at my desk for easy selection. I thought I'd see what the worst offender is from Taco Bell as far as calories. The Fiesta Taco Salad has a whopping 840 calories.
Only three locations that would be considered nataional didn't have a nutritional guide to take home. Carl's Jr did have a big poster on the wall with it, but not something you can take home. Church's Fried Chicken didn't have one at all. Every time I stop at Arby's they always say they are out of them.

Exactly - there's not much on the Taco Bell menu that's reasonable calorically. I also settle for the crunchy tacos or chicken soft taco - but not very often. Unless you get quite a few, they're not very filling.
By the way, Arby's has a printable nutrition facts thing online if you're interested. I LOVE their Martha's vineyard salad!!!

Boost,
Click on the Food Calculator link at the bottom of this page, then select Taco Bell.
Enter ... (three periods) in the search box and click on the Search button.
Scroll down the page and look at the Fat column!

Oh, man! I wish I had known about that trick to pull up the entire menu! I was looking at them one at a time! Much, much easier!
Now, if you ordered at least one of everything on their menu (the numbers shifted too far to the right)...
Calories
Protein
Fat
Carbs
Fiber
Sodium
60,091.4
2,477.2
2,601.8
6,731.8
697.7
163,083.0

That ... trick has always been there but only I've known about it. I use it for proofing my lists.
Thing is I broke it a few months ago and after you use it the calculator may fail and you have to do a Reload/Refresh. Oops! Forgot about that... I shouldn't have let the secret out!
I suppose I'll have to fix the bug now!

I'm glad you mentioned it. I will be using the Food Calculator more often because of it. I like being able to scroll down and decide what I'm going to eat based on how many calories it has, rather than guess which one has the lower calories.
I had driven to all these fast food places near my work so I could get copies of their nutrition guides for the reason above, but some of them didn't have guides I can take. Now I can throw them away.
