Right, so I'm stuck at my boyfriend's parents house dog sitting, and I don't have any protein shake powder with me. So for the past few weeks I've probably not been hitting my goal for protein each day.
There's a carton of silken tofu that I keep eyeing up however. I remember one of my vegetarian cookbooks has a recipe for a tofu fruit smoothie. Is this a tasty idea? ;)
A carton contains 23.4g of protein, but 233kcal. Whether or not I need the whole carton for one portion I don't know.
Hmm. Maybe I should just fork out for some more powder while I'm here. Although I like trying new stuff so I might just give it a go, regardless of the calories.

40% of the calories in tofu are protein (that's the same as skimmed milk and cauliflower); with protein powders it is typically in the 70% - 80% range. If there is a Holland & Barrett nearby and you can stretch to ?é?ú11, get some powder now whilst it is on sale.
I've tried using Tofu for a shake (hard to pass up as mum gave me a block as a present) and taste/texture was obviously different from usual.

I might do both
Have you ever tried the H&B Spirulina Strawberry Soy Protein? That's the one I had first [I can't stand the Vanilla Whey I bought afterwards] - so I was wondering if the Strawberry Whey is similar in taste? I'm hoping so as the spirulina is more calories and less protein, but I don't want this to be torture. ;)

I've got the strawberry whey and it is fine, but then i like the vanilla as well so I'm not much help to you (I now have the set: chocolate vanilla banana strawberry)
on the soy front I've only had the unflavoured Soy Protein Isolate (green container) and it is very flour-tasting so it isn't so great with fruit. Not a patch on Whey. Plus it doesn't seem to "cream" the way that Whey and milk do. (I have until early 2008 to find a use for it).
