That's great that you got right back on it! What's the purpose of the psyillium husks?
Oh, and congrats on the medium size t-shirt. I am so happy to see someone achieving that stuff - makes me think I can do it.

HEy listen, If I can do this after having 7 children, being in my mid 40's and having a family dispoaition towards obesity (uh morbid obesity, like most of my siblings weigh over 300lbs!), Then anyone who has a willingness to take their fish oils, live foods and protein 3 times a day can do this. The desire to exercise just comes naturaly once you start feeding the machine what it needs! We can all do this! JUst got to get out of the mindset of deprivation! If you are craving the peice of chocolate eat it and don't feel guilty-that alone can make you hold onto fat. Just make sure you have your 3 essentials with each meal and your body stops craving the junk and wants more of the good and the green (as our MOl would say )

I know I haven't been posting much lately but I sure am on the right track even if the scale is not moving too fast in the down direction!
I am back to my morning hour brisk walks and now including 10 minutes every day of Kettlebell exercises. I feel great but worn out at the end of the day!
Maybe need to cut the coffee altogether to get over the lag feeling .
Well for now nighty night

Boy am I sore from my kb and jump rope workout yesterday! Took a small brisk walk today and will do the work out again tommarow!
So food has been going well as far as not giving in to chocolate, fried foods stuff etc.. but my body seems to want to hold on to the weight anyway!.
Thought I would try a three day under 1000 calorie but with good fats, protiens and whole grain toast.,fruits and veggies. If I do this for 3 days it is SUPPOSE to kick my metabolism into gear. I sure hope it does omething!
On the other hand I am seeing ( and feeling) my body getting tighter. This is good I just want to be able to get under 140 before I turn 50, Of cource that is another 4 years away so it should happen before that .
Well off to read a little longer then lights out so I can get up and do it all again!

Got the morning workout done with the help of a cup of island paradise coconut joe (no sweetner). did my kbells and jumping jacks along with the mile and a half walk to the jiffy mart and back.
This might sound odd to all but breakfast was: 2 boiled eggs with sour krout flax seeds and chopped onion and green peppers along with 1tbs of olive oil. Protein, omegas and live food. It is all good!
I have yo admit that I went on another walk to a thrift store by that juffy mart (lokinf for a back pack cheap)and was soooooooo tempted to buy a macadamia white chocolate whoopie pie type cookie sandwich that they sell from a local baker. They are delicish and I even imagined myself biting into it with the big chuncks of white chocolate yummmmmm! But I walked right on by and did not go in. I probably would have eaten the whole thing and they are huge! probably like2,000 calories!
So hear I sit eating romain lettuce heart and drinking another cup of coffee, milk only.
I get these outrageous cravings for sweets the week beforee ttom and that is what time it is. I just have to remind myself "it's only hormones cindy you won't die if you don't have sugar!"
Ok that hurddle is over now on to the rest of the day

Ha! I get the same "feed me sweets or I'll die on the spot" cravings right before TTOM hits...it's the only time I ever eat strawberries & watermelon, two fruits I don't even like all that much normally, but can seriously OD on for those couple days.
And....I'm so happy to see that you are still going at it with the interesting food and consistant exercise!!!!!!

well I do wish it could just be fruit for me but I tend to want pure unadulterated junky, sugary carbs! I am doing well today though and only had 2 newmans ginger-os
and a tsp of peanut butter and co.'s dreamy dark chocolate peanut butter!
Yes my foodism odisys probably stem from being pregnant 7 times and trying different thhings that the taste for never went away
As far as the exercise I am keeping at it but it seems that mid forties does not alot a person the pleasure of letting go and firming up as fast as my 20's and 30's.
The bumps and bulges just like hanging around me
But I am too vain to give up!
So for lunch I had a salad with romain, cucs, onion, homemade cheese (from unpasturized whole milk ),and roasted sunflower seeds and almond slivers. I had a homemeade creamy italian dressing on top.

| Hey Cindy! Just wanted to tell you that you said something that really stuck with me - I can't remember if it was in my diary or Jack's or someone elses...but anyway you said something along the lines of how important it is to us when someone says "I believe in you" - and you are so right, I know how much it helps when a friend or family member gives me one of those lil encouraging bumps - and when you said that it reminded me that I need to make sure I'm giving 'em back as often as possible. So, anyway, this is random, but I wanted to say thanks cause I needed that reminder. Hope everything is going wonderful for you!

| Hey 50, I did FL4I for a while a couple of years ago, I think it's a pretty good diet. I didn't stay on the DG too long, I preferred BC but I think both are pretty good, I just couldn't deal w/ the lack of veggies on DG. Good luck.

yes there are not a lot of veggies.,especialy comparing it with ETL! But I thought I would get rid of this weight and adjust it. My body seems to need protein to drop any amount of weight. I weigh in tomarow and see what are the results of my second cycle.
Can't say I have been so very strict that I did not stray hear and there but I am feeling flatter and I am today wearing a skirt that when I purchased it I had to suckingut. But it is slipping on my waist and dropped lower !
So I am going to take my inches as well as I started measuring them at the beginning as well. I do not want to just live by a number on the scale, especialy with doing weights. .
Well thanks for dropping in hiker.

Hi zas, nice to see you over hear!
I started just counting calories and brisk walking after having my 7th child 3 years ago, actualy 2 years ago, I waited a while before getting serious.\
I lost 10lbs realatively quick tghen stopped, whent on Eat to live and lost 25lbs but realised it wasn't enough protein as I was still nurding so went off and gained back 10. and then more crept back on until I noticed I was back up to 183lbs and said ENOUGH! kinda just wyched what I was eating, picked up my brisk walking and weights again then found FL4I and I seem to be loosing at a decent clip now.
I won't weigh again until Friday morning and I also started TTOM today so we will see what comes of that,But.........my clothes are definately looser!
So I am most happy with this WOE for sure!
The last I checked I was down to 169 but put on 4lbs on the 3 cheat days and lost 2.6 of those the first 2 days back on the BC.wait I must have lost more like 3.6 because the scale read 170.4 the last time I checked.
So yes I like this WOE

I haven't posted in my diary for a while but I have been at the exercise cgallange and over at the FL4I forum. They are a great support over there. I have lost as of this morning 15 solid pounds since April. Which would almost equal out to 5lbs a month or more because this month is realy just begining.
Becaus eof straylight mentioning Turkish gettups I actualy did 8 reps on each side with a 10# kettlebell along with a brisk walk and 50 kb swings then 19minutes on the stationary bike. This was all between 5:30 and 6:30 this morning.
So the day is starting off well at 168 and exercises in!

This morning weigh in was 169.4. I am a bit bloated because of the week before syndrome!
Today is a 4 meals of 2 proteins each and 1 meal veggies only 1meal anything on the list. So some water should drop by tommarow, especialy if I drink my lemon water all day!
I have also been a bit constipated and took my magnisium lastnight and that helped some.
Well off to clean house with my Helena mud pack on!

Hey there--I HATE the monthly bloat! It's annoying. Possible helpful hint: I read the book "French Women Don't Get Fat" (and it's actually a really good book, I liked it a lot, really helpful and i like the way the woman writes, very funny, down-to-earth, girly and somewhat hedonistic yet sensible) and she said that making leek soup and eating just that for a day or two is really helpful at helping the body release water. I guess there is something in leeks that is anti-bloat. Pretty cheap to make, as leeks are very inexpensive and no chemicals! Eating nothing but leek soup for a whole day or two might not be doable--I know it definitely doesn't sound appealing to me--but probably having it for at least a few meals around your premenstrual time would probably help! I am fasting today, but I do have leeks in the kitchen so probably tomorrow or Saturday I will make up some soup and have it throghout the next week, as it is that same time of the month for me over here! (Day 22).

thanx straylight , I actualy read the same book and did make the soup at the time. Thanks for the reminder!
Well today was productive in the bonding and memory field. I spent most of the day at the lake with my 2 youngest children. It was actualy very pleasant to only have 2 not 4 or 6 to watch at one time, hardly any arguing too !
I did ride my free stationary bike that I found at a yard sale a month ago. It is soo much harder to ride that thing than taking a bike ride outside on a regular bike!
So ater 25 minutes and sweat pouring off of me I said come on children we are going to the lake! And we stayed there for 4 hours! It was realy great I only got 4 of my 6 meals in today though.
They were
meal#1~2eggs and some cheese a cup of coffee creamer only
Meal#2~a smoothie made of frozen peaches and fresh cherries and a small amount of juice to make it pulse.
Meal#3~some cracked pepper almonds and an iced coffee no sweetner.
Meal #4~1/4 chiken breast 1/2 burger (no bun) and cottage cheese.
So that is it unless I get this little girl to sleep soon (you'd figure she'd be exsausted w/o a nap) and can go grab a few veggies!

That is really nice and fun that you got to spend some time out in nature by the lake with your kiddos. Something about communing with nature just feels so great! I always feel very harmonious with everything when I am out in nature, and I am sure it's wonderful to share it with one's children!
I am actually making leek soup; it's simmering on the stove. I am going to have it for breakfast tomorrow. Did you notice that it helped with bloating when you tried it?

Well I did not have any leeks but what I did do was drink ice cold lemon water all day!
Yesterday morning I weighed in at 169 last night it was 171.2 and this morning (after drinking like a gallon of lemon water all day yesterday) It was 166.8!
I thought after I weighed last night I would be down maybe 2 or 3 lbs but not 4. I was very pleased.
I made more iced lemon water this morning and am almost done with my first quart.
It probably helped that I was al done eating by 6:00pm and my last meal was the protein only. That definately helps get rid of bloat.

Is ice cold lemon water a diuretic? Because let me tell you--that leek soup was NOT TASTY. Blech! Maybe I need a better recipe or something, but I had to look at it like taking medicine because boy was it gross.

Lemon is not only a diuretic but it is a nuetralizer and helps with acidosis which causes your body to hold onto liquids.
I realy love fresh squeezed lemon in icey water!
i MADE 2 HUGE SHEET PANS OF CINAMON STICKY BUNS AND ONLY TASTED A TINY PIECE TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE AS GOD AS THEY LOOKED!
Not only that but my husband brought home some delicious looking cookies that I gave away because I did not want them in our room. He was ok with it because he loves to sharre!
So I am sitting at ating 3 mrals so far and 3/4 of a gallon of watter, one of those with a lemon in it.
I wander if I can actualy see the lower 160's by sunday?

Yes the whole week of my cycle I seem to be bloated as I am geting rid of the gunk!
Today is day 4 and am holding at 167 even though I have been doing realy well on the eating front! So if I continue to hang on I will probably see a drop by Sunday. I would like to be at 165 by then although tonight is pizza night at our house. I am sure the little meals I have been eating have decreased my stomach so I won't be able to eat that much anyway !

Well started the beyond calories this morning for another 10 day cycle. I realy do enjoy this program!
So to start the weigh in was 167.2 which is not bad with ttotm and a few choice days behind me.
I did decide just to see how many calories I am consuming so i calculated over at myplate in livestrong. It might not be a good idea as this is not a calorie counting diet but aportion of 6 small specific "meals". It might mess me up some.But..........This is what I came up with in any case:
Meal #1~2fried eggs with cheese=350,and a cup of tea (milk and honey not on the program)=50=400
Meal#2~nectarine and a few grapes=100
Meal#3~pinto beans with an once of roastbeef and smidgen of cream cheese (I only out the cream cheese in becaue I put too much hot sauce in)=264
So far 3 meals (of which I aaddedabout100 extra calories to)=out to 664 calories
So therefore if the other 3 =564 that is under 1200 calories for this day which is probably a low day because there is more fruit and veggies today than on some.
IN any case what am I trying to see hear?
That would be about 200 calories less than my required amount to lose 2lbs a week.
But like I said they shift so trying to figure this diet out calorie wise is only a game.
I probably should just stick with the diet and keep loosing and some being so anal.

| HI 50, I am like you I did the BC diet for quite awhile but I also like to see the calorie count. For me I found it varied quite a bit depending of course on my choices. I believe that is the point of their diet, a little calorie shifting, a little food combining. I do believe it works, I don't exactly know why. I think the 6 "meal" a day is a big part of it, at least it was for me. I count calories now but still do the 6 meal thing. It sounds like it's working well for you so I say stick with it.

AS of this morning back at 166lbs. I realy did well today and want to stick out this round dof BC and see if I can get into 150s by the end of it!
I am soooo looking forward to being even at 159 which I have not seen before I got pregnant with no.7 over 3 years ago. And that was only because of depression and morning sickness .
So now I am a happy 46 year old and just want to lose the last 26lbs and oh it is so challanging!
I do think it can be done with FL4I though. This program is proving to be a keeper .

Hey Cindy! I read through the info about BC last night - thanks for talking about it in Cport's diary or I never would have known about it lol.
I'm curious about it but not sure if it's for me. Only because I would totally miss my morning oatmeal or Fiber One cereal .
Some of the food choices regarding proteins are a bit strange. But of course I wouldn't know the science behind the author's ideas. Bacon and deli meats but not lean ground beef?
I guess my main concern is wondering if this is enough to fuel the intense workouts I am doing. I did post a question in the BC thread though.
All I know is that it's working for you!

Just lost my whole response!
Basicaly,On the BC YOU choose the proteins you want. If a day has 2PP(or proteins) you choose from the list ones tha you want, ex.,
This is a typical ( although not because the menues shifst carbs and calories every day)
but just say;
meal#1 1large fried egg with 1ounce of cheese
meal#2 2 pieces of fruit
meal # deli meat slices (turkey or roast beef) and an ounce of nuts
meal#4 a sald with 4 veggies and 2Tbs salad dressing
meal#5 cottage cheese and 4Tbs flax seeds ( not in the menue but i figure it has as much protein and loads more fiber than nuts)
Meal#6 2 more fruit or another salad with 3-4 veggies
Now the thing is that some days have 4PP and 2 meals of either fruit or veggies.
I likethis because even though my calorie count never reaches above 1500 on any day I am never hungry because of the highly satiated foods. Also it is important to me tha the meals are properly combined and that my carbs are coming from veggies and fruit.
Ihave also just discovered xylitol ( a natural,no calorie sweetner how great is that!)
Not pushing, just saying, for me it is a perfect program

Well I can certainly say I wish it were day 11 already.
I poured through the food lists and tried to construct a decent day 1 yesterday, but maybe I need to increase the portion sizes just a bit. I ended the day at only 1005 calories. So even though I was officially done with eating the 6 meals, I added an entire serving of walnuts (200 cal) to at least bring me up to 1200. I burned 455 during my exercise yesterday...I have a feeling I need to increase cals for sure or I will end up sick and dying.
I know the plan doesn't require counting the calories, but I've been doing it for so long that it's second nature. And I just want to be sure my intake is enough, which it sure wasn't yesterday!
I will play with a little bit larger portion sizes today and see what I can come up with.

yes scoobs for sure don't go away from ameal still hungry, just don't eat as much as you normally would.
The calorie thing is still in me as well and I find I get around 1200-1400- calories in a day with this so I am never hungry!
You have to eat to lose!

Well, this is the last day of my extended choice days ( I took 4 instead of 2 or 3), ANd tomarow will go back on DG.
I feel good about how I handled my meals, with the exception on todays. I ate all my required calories by 12:30 noon today and will only have water the rest of the day!
Livestrong gives my 1625 cals per day to lose 1.5 lbs a week. I tried shifting them throught the 4 days and feel good about it. I also got some good walks and even a 1 mile jog in there!
So back to DG for 11 days and no calorie counting just follow the menue!
Hope everyone is having a nice day!

Have a nice trip in Europe. We have communities in Germany, France and Spain. I wonder if you will be near any of them?

| HI 50, good luck on your next round of DG, it sounds like it is really working well for you. Do you ever do any hiking in the Whites? It is our favorite hiking area although we haven't gotten up there much this year. We like the area around Gorham quite a bit, it seems to be a little less crowded than some of the areas. Anyway, you are so lucky to have them so close.

As a matter of fact my husband took our 2 boys today up past twin mountains to Crawford notch. Elevation 2820? Anyway I would have loved to go but with a 3 year old it is just not reality at this time. It was a 45 min. walk up and It worw my two boys out!
I will post the pictures he sent to me on his phone when I figure it out.
On the exercise front for me,after hubs came home and took a 2 hour nap he offered to feed the idies while I got my power walk/jog in. I did so good too! 4 miles in an hour and 2 of them were jogging! Yay me!
So I have a god deficit for the day! 1000 calories from my maintanace calories.
