hey theresa - i'm glad we managed to figure it out! now the question i really want answering is how do we stop it? i hate feeling so bloated!

hey DG- i just hope so! i fully intend on keeping the exercise up, not only does it burn the cals but i feel so great afterwards too.

today has been a good day. i've done a lot more coursework, worked out and so far ive eaten really healthily! i've been looking at masters degrees in my spare time, its kind of unnerving that in July i will be a graduate. i need to figure out which masters i want to do. the only problem is that there aren't any courses i want to do at my current university  this sucks as i love sheffield, but hopefully another university will be good too. i've been encouraged to go to oxford/cambridge for my masters degree but i really don't think it is the right place for me, i want to keep living in penistone with my fiancee and go to a local university. i guess the only options that i can reasonably get to in a day are leeds and manchester. both of these uni's have law departments rated in the top 10 in the country so both would be a good choice. i just need to do more research.

i do the exact same thing. i think my problem is that i am an utter perfectionist so each bit has to be perfect until i go onto the next and by the time its the week of the deadline i am stressed to the point of near breakdown! i am the kind of person who has to start revising 2 months before the exam because if i don't i will never get all the work done. well at least my teachers can't say i dont put the time into my work :dizzy:

Hey VoodooDoll.  Glad to see that you are doing so well on your diet an exercise plan.  So I was reading about your slimming world experience. All I've gotta say is that diet looks like a lotta work.  Totally wouldn't work for me because I would see everything on the "do not eat" list and want every single thing on it and then I'd look at all of my "free food options" and not want a single one.  I guess that's just the rebel in me who doesn't like to be "told" what to do.  I did weight watchers for a little bit and it drove me crazy that I had to add up cals + fat+ fiber to get points.  However, on the other hand I don't mind counting calories.  Probably for two reasons: 1) I use an online calculator that does it all for me, and 2) I know what the calories I want to aim for and I'm in control of achieving that daily goal.  Don't get me wrong, I know there are foods that I should not have, and there are probably many of them that I won't have, but there is not anything that I CAN'T have.  See, I'm a rebel .

Anyway, good luck and keep up the good work.  It's great that you are considering the legal profession.  At least you know that's a profession that will always be in high demand  = Job security and decent $$ to boot!

So I spent a lot of time reading the new curry cookbook I bought. It's like FoodTV pure food porn! I love it. I wasn't sure what to post first for you Vindaloo, Biryani, Masala...what are your favorite dishes and I'll post the low cal version for you.

hey journey- thanks for posting, i guess i am the same in the sense of being a rebel, lol. if there is somethign i catagorically can't have then i seem to want it more! strange, huh?

hoofprints- well my ultimate favourite curry is chicken tikka massala so if you could post that recipe i would love to try it

Day 6

i ended up changing my plans for today at the last minute after speaking to my friend lizi. we are both students who drive to uni and we use the same car park (which we purchased a permit for). when i spoke to lizi she told me the road on which our car park is on is closed as it is being re-surfaced. no-one had been informed about this and utter chaos ensued as 2 car parks were affected, meaning that around 1000 people had no space to park! apparently lizi drove around for 2 hours looking for a space but to no avail so had to go home (in total a 50 mile round trip!). well today i am meant to be in for one hour for a seminar at 12pm. there is no way i will get a space at that time as all the staff who used the car park will have already parked up on the streets meaning there will be no-where to park. so im just going to email the tutor and explain why i'm not in and spend today at home. if the road isnt open again by thurdsay (the day i'm in 9am-4pm) i will have no choice but to set off at about 6.30/7am and find a space as i can't afford to miss that much work. but for the sake of a 1 hour seminar i am not going to waste 4 hours (1hr each way plus 2 hours looking for a space) of my life!

so my new plan for the day: first after ive written this i'm going to the gym  and the rest of the day will be dutifully spend finishing off my coursework. i have today and tomorrow left to get it all finished now. last night i read it all through and i think its quite possibly one of the best things i've ever written and i feel quite proud- lets hope the lecturer sees it that way too! despite this i still have to write a conclusion, bibliography, appendix, put my essay into the assessed essay template issued by the uni and change odd bits around. so it could take a while still- grr.

food

a quick note on this point: i am actually starting to feel less hungry that i used to. maybe i'm finally getting used to smaller meals and smaller quantities! i hope so

crunchy nut cereal- 220

tomato and basil soup with 2 slices of toast- 385

pear- 35

jacket potato with 1/2 tin baked beans, 50g cheese and tomatos- 605

natural yoghurt with a teaspoon of honey- 200

Total Calories Eaten- 1445:cool:

5 meals and still not over on the calories- man that feels good

Exercise

it was a real struggle to make it to the gym today. i felt tired and in one of those lazy moods where you just cant be bothered to do anything much. but i forced myself to go and man do i feel better after it

The only problem i have with the gym is the large amount of time it actually takes up- not so much actually doing the workout (about 60/80 mins) but driving to the gym and back (20 mins) getting ready (15 mins), showering and getting ready after (20 mins) and then when i get back i have to dry my hair and straighten it (40 mins). so one gym session actually takes about 2.5 hours. and thats basically all my morning gone. i know the solution to this is the get up earlier (normally i get up about 9am) so i guess thats what i'm going to have to do once im starting revising for exams etc.

Rowing- 45 mins- 8km- 480 cals

Elliptical- 11 mins- 120 cals

Total Calories Burnt- 600:grin:

Day 7

i have planned everything out that i will be eating today last night so i am all prepared and know i have the right ingredients in. if i stick to the plan i will be in the right calorie range  (edit: well that didn't happen!)

food

raspberry porridge- 212

baked beans on toast- 500

2 slices of toast with jam- 300

curry- 1000 :dizzy:

Total Calories Eaten- 2012:cow:

no exercise

today is the last day i am spending on my essay so can't spare time for the gym. i can barely spare time to eat. i am so stressed. i wish i wasn't such a hopeless perfectionist!

curry happened as i didnt have time to cook tea. but the good news is that the essay is done - yey! now the essay is over i can have a day or two off, get back into the gym and i'll have time to cook again. tomorrow is a busy day though- i need to set off at 7am to get to uni (due to previously mentioned parking situation) and won't be home until 5pm at the earliest. so no gym tomorrow either but come friday i will be getting weighed and back at the gym.

kudos on the essay being done!!!.........and you know, I've never had curry in my entire life, have no clue what it even looks or tastes like (though I'm imagining a dish of chinese fried rice for some reason)......yet I am strangely tempted compelled to "seek out curry" one day soon just to see what it's like...assuming I can find any locally - which I sorta doubt (I'm not curious enough to actually cook it myself:grin:)....what is it that makes it so calorie dense? (you might have said and I missed it)

hey suenos- i can't believe you haven't had a curry! please, for the sake of your weight maintainance goals dont let yourself try one , lol, after one i was an addict! the rice itself isn't that calorie dense as i always get pilau rice which has been boiled, the problem is the tikka sauce that is on the chicken. i dont know the exact indredients but i know it contains cream and gee butter  there are lots of healthier alternative currys i guess, i've heard vegetable biryani is mean to be the lowest calorie curry. interestingly, ive also heard spicy foods can actually speed up your metabolism.

hey theresa- don't worry im back on track today! i have no intention to get derailed like last time

well i've handed the coursework in, and man i feel relieved! now on to the next task: this evening i am starting to get all my notes, printouts etc in order so i can start revision tomorrow.

it was incredibly windy today and driving back from uni my mirror (just the glass bit) blew off my car- how odd! i'll have to try and get matt and his dad on the case of fixing it over the weekend.

no exercise today due to university. but i will be back at the gym tomorrow morning to get weighed and work out! i'm a little nervous about getting weighed but i know scientifically speaking i should have lost something, i've been under my RMR 6 out of 7 days and have done exercise on top.

Day 8

fruit (mango, grapes, melon)-110

chicken caeser salad wrap- 465

home made sweet and sour chicken- 1000 (large portion as i felt starving!)

Total Calories Eaten- 1575

no exercise- planned rest day

Hello voodoodoll!  It sounds like you are doing so well!  I'm impressed!  And you're doing well with your school work too!  Wonderful!  I wish I were that organized.  Today I am looking around my house and just taking in what a disaster it has become.  I wish it were all neat and tidy and I could have everything in my life organized.  Sigh!

But I think you deserve a pat on the back!

thanks sas

My stats after week one:

weight- 253lbs/18st 1(down 1.6lbs)

BMI- 37.4 (down 0.2)

bodyfat -49.1% (down 0.3)

well, guess what? i've actually lost weight- who'd have thought it! i've lost 1.6lbs since last week- wooooooooooo!!! i'm so so so so so happy that im finally losing again

BUT, i want to increase my weight loss to 2lbs a week which means i need to increase my weekly calorie deficit by 1400 calories. looking back at my last week if i hadn't had 2 days over my 1400-1600 calorie target i could have had an extra 600 calorie deficit. also i went to the gym 4 times, if i can manage 5 times this week  thats another 600 calories, so i am nearly there. i'm going to work really hard this week and see if next friday i can lost 2lbs and get into the 17stones again

Day 9

crunchy nut cereal- 220

low fat pate on 2 slices of toast with 7 mini tomatos- 285

muller light cranberry and rasberry yoghurt- 100

orange juice- 40

pear- 35

tuna, red pepper, onion, mushroom, sweetcorn, tomato and basil sauce, garlic, 2oz pasta- 575

tin of fruit cocktail- 85

Total Calories Consumed-  1340

exercise

rowing- 10km- 50 mins- 600 cals

Total Calories Burnt- 600

kinda low on the calories today, but its not like i've deprived myself so i'm not going to worry about it. if i get hungry before bed i might eat some fruit or veg and add it on to the total tomorrow.

tomorrow is going to be mentally busy: gym; driving 1hr round trip to barnsley to visit peugeut dealer about repairing my heated mirror; trip to the garden centre to buy matts parents christmas gifts; trip to retail world to buy another sports bra; driving 1hr round trip to see my parents for tea and a catch up...

Day 10

well today didnt go as well as planned. i overlaid so didnt have time to get to the gym, but have been running around like crazy doing errands all day and christmas shopping, so hopefully that burnt some calories. tomorrow the gym is my top priority, im going to go first thing after i get up to ensure i dont get distracted.

porridge- 220

baked beans on toast- 500

grapes- 150

sauasage and mashed potato with peas and cauliflower- 650

2 small cup cakes- 300 :dizzy:

options hot chocolate- 35

Total Calories Consumed- 1855

will do better tomorrow- plus point is that its still below my unadjusted RMR so might have had some kind of small deficit today.

tomorrow is planned curry day. as curry is 1000 calories i will aim to have cereal (220) and pate on toast (270) for lunch with perhaps a pear (35) in the afternoon so i don't go over my planned calories (1400-1600). who says you can't have takeaway curry and diet at the same time?

hoofprints- thanks for the recipe. i will have to find out where i can source the ingredients for it and then will give it a try over the christmas holidays when i have some spare time.

had a good day today, sticking solidly to my plan. went to the gym in the morning. this afternoon spent a couple of hours doing revision, before going to the movies to see 'hitman' which was quite a good film. when we got back from the movies curry was ordered and shortly i'll be settling down to my usual sunday night 'topgear' programme on tv.

weather outside is very cold and very wet. i wouldnt be suprised if when i wake up in the morning i discover it has snowed. i love snow. it makes everything so pretty. i used to live in a very built up area with lots of smelly factories, pollution and noise. whenever it snowed their i always used to see the snow as a blanket covering all of this manmade mess and making everything pure again. i forget how lucky i am now to live in the countryside but the thought of snow brings back memories.

tomorrow should be a good day. gym in the morning followed by a trip into the centre of penistone to go to the bank, the butchers and the local store. the rest of the day will be spent at home getting revision done and preparing for my seminar on tuesday.

hope you are all well

Day 12

man, i feel soooo good. i've just got back home from doing a 12km row. i feel physically exhausted but so motivated now that i can do this. every day at the gym i see my fitness improving, it really is wonderful to feel yourself slowly getting stronger and leaner. it is going to be one #%@&! of a journey to get to 140lbs but when i get there i can't even comprehend how much better my life will be

the rest of the day will be spend sat under a blanket (its soooo cold) and reading all about international law and the doctrine of personality. not so fun, but it needs to be done. i have 6 weeks until my first exam now, so plenty of time to get everything done with time to have a bit of a break over christmas too hopefully.

i seriously cannot convey how good i am feeling right now, i'm sure exercise is like a drug or something!

Day 13

it was an early start today as i have a medical law seminar from 9-11am. when i woke up at 6.50am i could see that my car was all frosted over and the roads were icy so i had to set off a little earlier than usual. it took 15 minutes to de-ice my car. by the time i set off to uni my hands were like blocks of ice!

after my seminar today i am driving straight home to go to the gym for a swim. i know that once i have finished my seminar i will just want to come home and get lunch, but this afternoon i need to do revision (so i can let myself skive off this evening to watch liverpool in the champions league!) so i have to make myself go this am.

i have been really loving my workouts lately. i feel so good afterwards and they actually wake me up! i've also been noticing a lot more recently that my clothes are getting looser... i wonder what the number on the scale will be on friday? i have no idea as i dont weigh myself inbetween fridays, but i have been trying really hard so if i can make a 2lb loss i will be over the moon. i was thinking about it, and if i can manage a 2lb loss every week next year i will be roughly at my goal weight. that means this time next year i can have my perfect body! what a christmas present that would be to myself for next year!

food

crunchy nut cereal- 220

2 slices of wholemeal bread with low fat brussels pate- 270

grapes- 150

3 hot roast chestnuts (mmmm...yummy:devil:)- 50

sirloin steak (all fat removed), mashed potato and veggies (carrots, peas, broccoli and cauliflower)- 700

Total Calories Consumed- 1390 cals

exercise

swimming- 1 hour- 100 lengths (2km)- 1148

Total Calories Burnt Through Exercise- 1148 cals

Day 14

wow, i've been sticking to my plan for 2 weeks now. it feels good to finally get back in control of what i eat again. i just know how easy control over food can fall apart for me so i need to be dilligent and keep up my motivation.

gym is planned this morning for the 4th day in a row. i feel like my body needs a rest but as tomorrow is a planned rest day i will soldier on today. there is no way, unless i bend the laws of time, that i can manage the gym tomorrow, and i dont want to miss the gym 2 days in a row.

today is going to be nice and chilled out, i'm not in university and have no commitments to see my friends (instead i'm seeing them tomorrow night after uni). this morning i will go to the gym and do some shopping from the co-op (local store) and this afternoon and evening nothing much is planned except revision. i really need to pick up the pace with my revision now or i will be still revising for these exams next christmas!

i wish i had something more interesting to report, but for a rare change everything seems to be going right in my life at the moment- healthy eating/fitness, university, my fiance, friends and family are all well! touch wood it will continue

porridge- 220

tomato and basil soup with 2 slices of bread- 386

reduced fat chocolate moose- 200

i have been giving some thought today to what my new years resolutions will be. in order to decide this i think i need to look at my overall lifetime goals and ambitions. some of course i can't start working on just yet, due to lack of time/money etc, but if at least i get my objectives in mind, it might help with the goals for 2008.

lifetime goals

get to 140lbs (well between 125-160lbs, whatever looks the best for me)

get a 2.1 in my law degree ( being as i only need to get 2.2's in every module in my 3rd year to do this it should definately be achieveable )

become a master of laws (i.e do my masters degree)

pass my legal practice course

get a job as a trainee solicitor

become a partner in a law firm

pass my private pilots licence

run a marathon (and raise money for a charity)

own a porsche 911/ dodge viper/ evo 10/ 350z/ s 2000 (i'm such a boy when it comes to cars)

travel around the world

own a house!

swim the english channel (26miles!)

get married to matt and have children (in like a million years, not ready for babies anytime soon!)

well, most of those goals can't be achieved by me next year... but some can..

so how about for 2008:

lose weight- the exact amount maybe can't be specified but if i work on 2lbs a week x's 50 weeks (to take acount of my holidays) thats 100lbs- hmmm... maybe thats unrealistic? thoughts?

get a 2.1 in my degree

start my masters degree

get a vacation placement at a law firm

get a full time summer job and save towards the cost of my studies

get into running and maybe do a 5km race?

go to the gym on average 5 times a week

I think because it gets more difficult to lose weight the slimmer you are, maybe average 1.6lbs a week instead over the period of 50 weeks.  So first few months 2 lbs a week is good but the last few months might only be 1lbs a week.  If you read the success stories it seems to be the norm in averaging a loss of 1.6lbs weekly over a year.

But also keep trying for the 2lbs weekly, it is what I am doing and trying to keep up as long as possible without killing myself too much.:dizzy:

Hi Doll!

Well done on racking up the "two weeks" of consistency under your belt...hope you enjoy your chill day!

P.s.  love the "lifetime goals" btw:grin:....and as far weight loss - I think it's totally realistic in expecting that, apart from the occassional weekly "no show" on the scale, you can drop around 2 lbs a week consistently (as long as your intake is consistant) for quite a long while to come.

thanks guys for your posts, i guess i will decide on my target for weekly weight loss when i've managed to rack up a few more weeks of healthy eating and exercise under my belt.

this week hasn't been perfect as i have had 2 currys and  have gone over my allowed calories by about 500, but i have managed the gym 5 times this week and have done more intense workouts which means i have done a LOT better than last week, so tomorrow i really hope to see a loss, if i manage 2lbs i will be overjoyed!

Day 15

today i am in university from 10am-4pm, lectures are starting to wind down into the revision stages now. i have just had my last environmental law lecture and in 30 minutes it's my final medical law lecture. i dont feel like i know enough for the term to be over already. we still have another week of seminars untill we actually break up, but i am feeling woefully unprepared already! i know i will be ok in the end with my exams as i always do well, but with it being the final year i guess i'm feeling the pressure slightly more than usual.

i have started noticing lately that my friends are skipping classes more and more than they used to. i seem to spend more and more time on my own at university while everyone around me seems to be friends with each other. i guess it's because i live at home and communte to university so i am only in a maximum of 2 days a week, but it still makes me feel a bit lonely. i'm sure these feelings will pass this evening when i see some of my friends at the pub (diet cokes for me!) and next week when i get together with some more of my old friends before christmas to celebrate.

another thing i have noticed today that is quite bizzare is that i miss the gym! yep, you read that right! i've been 4 mornings in a row and today is my day off, and i actually miss the place! after today i should be at the gym every morning from fri- mon, so my body does clearly need a rest. i just miss the high i get when i leave, and the feeling of elation when i complete my workout without giving in to the little voices in my head that tell me to quit. i guess i feel safer from overeating on gym days too as there is no way i will sacrifice all my hard work. on the days, like today, when i havent had a workout i kind of feel like there is nothing to lose if i binge, but clearly that is not the case and im working to change my mentality.

food

crunchy nut cereal- 220

big jacket potato with baked beans- 600 (i did so well refusing the cheese!)

fruit smoothie- 200

CHINESE BUFFET- 1000:angry:

Total Calories Consumed- 2020:angry:

no exercise- planned rest day

well, it started off a GREAT day, avoiding the cheese and not snacking on unhealthy foods. the problem came when i met my friends. i had planned to cook something when i get in but we ended up talking and talking and getting hungrier and hungrier. the pub was too full to serve us, which is the shame as they did have salads etc, so the nearest place was the chinese all you can eat buffet! i know what you are thinking, a compulsive overeater at an all you can eat buffet- the thing nightmares are made of, right? well actually i did quite well, i had 1 plate of main course and then dessert (which was jelly- hopefully not too high in calories). i am unsure on the calorie value of the meal so i will estimate 1000, it could be slightly less or it could be a little more. i am so annoyed at myself for not having the willpower to resist, but we ate at about 8pm and i had my lunch at 11am (due to lectures being at 12) so i felt starving!

next time i meet up with the friends we have jointly agreed not to go back to the chinese buffet again! my friends had at least 4 courses, and i think by the time we left they felt slightly guilty about indulging too much to "get their moneys worth". so if we meet up next week at least ive got them committed to something healthy!

WOW! despite the chinese buffet last night i got weighed this morning and have lost 2lbs!!! i am sooooo over the moon to be finally seeing consistent losses again, it is doing wonders for my self esteem and motivation. thats 3.6lbs gone in 2 weeks now!

My stats after week 2:

weight- 251/ 17st 13 (down 2lbs)

BMI- 37.1 (down 0.3)

bodyfat- 49.2% (up 0.1% ???)

the only thing i can think with the bodyfat reading is that its not entirely accurate, i just use the reading given on the tanita scales so it's not as precise as callipers.

aim for next week is to carry on with a loss of 2lbs, i have shown this week that even if i have a couple of not so perfect days food wise, so long as i have tough workouts 5 times a week i can do it. if i manage to lose 2lbs next week i will be back at 249lbs, my lowest weight so far and i can finally feel like i've got back on track

Yay you!!!!  Looks like you are firmly on track and headed for a new low!  The tantia scale reading is defin. not as accurate as calipers (varies up/down depending on your level of hydration at any given time)...calipers are cheap (got mine for 14 bucks on-line including shipping/next day delivery) and fun to play with.

Voodoo,

For what its worth, here are some "statistics" I kept during my journey...Maybe these can help to set "targets" for intereim weekly/monthly goals...

  • Starting out I lost about 1.0% of my total weight p/week (first 16 weeks),
  • During the sustained loss phase this reduced to 0.7% p/week (week 17-90),
  • For the phase up to maintenance this reduced to 0.1% p/week (wk 91-137)

I don't know if my results were "typical" or not, but from reading others posts on weekly statistics, they do seem to be reasonable...

low fat pate on 2 slices of toast- 270

300g of cherrys (yum yum!)- 150

pasta and veggies- 300

2 slices of toast with a little jam- 280

Total Calories Consumed- 1220 cals

exercise

Rowing- 1hr- 12km- 720 cals

Total Calories Burnt- 720 cals

i'm feeling good at the moment, todays workout was awesome. since i got back from the gym ive had lunch, spoke on the phone to matt and read a girly magazine whilst eating cherrys- bliss! now its time to put my studenty head on and get some more revision done. part of me cant wait until i am a qualified lawyer and there are no more exams to study for. even though the hours are long and hard, it cant be as bad as the constant nagging thought that there is more revision to be done!

was going to have roasted chestnuts as my afternoon snack, but after discovering that 3 roasted chestnuts have 69 calories i think i'll pass on that plan. might have a few for supper though if i have some spare calories left over. nothing is more yummy on a dark and cold winters night than hot roast chestnuts!

you know when you have one of those mornings when you overlay in bed and it sends your plans for the day spiralling out of the window? well, this is my life today. alarm was set for 8.30am, but i felt so exhausted i slept through it until 10am. grr! so i have 2 choices:

1. go to the gym still and because i am so behind now with my revisions spend the evening studying, or

2. skip the gym and hit the books

i know which i would prefer to do! but i've got to tell myself i'm not that person anymore. if i hit the gym now and avoid the internet break i usually have for an hour after i get back, i can gain some time that way. man i hate time managaement- it means replacing the things i like, with the things i dont!

had a good day yesterday so if i can build on that and hit the gym again for the 3rd time this week i will feel so good. last week i managed a 2lb loss, but i went to the gym 5 times that week. if i am to manage 5 times this week i really need to go today, wed and thur.

have already got the alarm bells ringing about fridays night out with my friends hannah and natalie, we are going to the movies first and then heading out for a meal. if i go light on the calories for the rest of the day and choose something sensible i hope i can escape unscathed. is it wrong that events i used to look forwards to, like, well... meals out (), are seen now as things to damage control/avoid? clearly unless i am to become incredibly unsociable i need to be able to overcome this feeling whilst still keeping my healthy eating goals on track.

right, im sure ive wasted even more time now! if anyone sees me posting here before this evening feel free to shout at me and tell me to do my work!

im off to the gym

weight- 248.2/ 17st 10.2 (down 2.8lbs)

BMI- 36.7 (down 0.4)

bodyfat- 49.8% (up 0.8% ???:dizzy:)

i feel so happy to finally be at my lowest weight so far  i've lost 6.4lbs over these last 3 weeks and feel brilliant. i just need to keep it up this time!

aim for next week- lose weight over xmas! this is going to be a toughie as i do plan on eating maintainance on xmas eve and xmas day. but i can get some good gym sessions in before then and ill really watch the calories on the other 5 days. a 2lb loss might eb unrealistic for xmas time, so for next week i'll be really happy if i just lose a pound.

today i actually did my first weights session with matt. it lasted 2 1/2 hours and he showed me how to work out everything. i bet i will ache lots tomorrow but hopefully doing weights and cardio will help the weight come off even quicker.

Day 23

today started out as a good day until i was given a chocolate orange! then i justified eating the whole thing in 1 day by saying i wouldnt be tempted any more- argh! i just hope i dont get any chocolate for christmas gifts. i doubt matt and my parents would get any chocolate, knowing my goals. the funny thing is that after the chocolate i felt lousy, my system just isnt used to massive quanities of sugar anymore!

cereal (crunchy nut)- 220

soft boiled eggs with toast soldiers- 570

beef sirloin steak, mashed potato and veggies (carrots, peas and cauliflower)- 600

chocolate orange- 1000 :angry::shock::nono:

Total Calories Eaten- 2390

exercise

2.5hours weight lifting- 844 cals

Total Calories Burnt- 844 cals

i really enjoyed my weights exercise with matt. im definately going to be incorporating a weights exercise in my weekly routine. although the day after my weights exercise i feel so achey that i was unable to do a cardio session today.

i am guilty of the exact same thing.  funny how our minds work, eh? at least you felt lousy after eating it (not that it's good in and of itself,  but at least you will have a better chance of saying no next time).

crunchy nut cereal- 220

jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn- 500

spagetti bolognese- 600

G?â?? chocolate dessert- 400 (parents had bought them! :nono: have told them not to get me one again)

flapjack- 250 (last slice, all gone now, phew!)

Total Calories Consumed- 1970

no exercise- too much muscle pain from previous days weights session.

i guess today marked the first day of my proper christmas holidays. i am giving myself the best part of a week off from revision and all things university so i am all fresh and raring to start again from the 28th. i think its important to give myself a rest now so that later i dont get as worn out come exam time.

today was not a good calorie day though, hopefully tomorrow will be better, although it is a scheduled curry day. instead of losing weight over the christmas period i've begun to think that maintainance should be the order of the day. xmas eve is a meal out and drinks at the pub, xmas day is a huge christmas dinner, cooked breakfast and lots of alcoholic drinks (christmas and birthday are the only time i drink in the whole year).. theres not much room for losing weight. but to try and even things out i bit i am planning on hitting the gym tomorrow (if muscles are better), xmas eve morning and the 28th.

today was cool in that when we vistied my parents i tried on lots of my old "thin clothes". now when we say thin, i was never thin, but when i wore these clothes i looked like i had curves in all the right places which meant i didn't look particularly overweight. and some of these clothes almost fit! i am hoping in 10-14lbs time i will actually feel comfortable enough to wear them. it feels so good to be growing back into my old wardrobe! i bet it will be even cooler when my old wardrobe gets too big- but thats a way off yet!

today is the last day before christmas! happy xmas everybody!

this morning has been spent having a long lie in, packing and getting ready for going around to my parents. every year me and matt spend 2 days staying at my parents house in rotherham at christmas time and we always have a fantastic time. this evening we are going out to the pub for a nice meal and drinks (diet cokes for me- im driving) followed by going back to the house, playing board games and more drinking and nibbles! as you can probably tell, its not going to be a low calorie day!

neither is christmas day with roast chicken, yorkshire puddings, roast potato's, stuffing, sausages wrapped in bacon and veggies! yikes! but im not going to feel guilty about eating my xmas lunch. im allowing myself a lot more calories than normal over today, xmas day and boxing day. come thursday i'll be back to being good!

christmas is a time that i love. my family is the most important thing in the world to me and i love spending quality time together at christmas. i wont be online for a few days now until the 27th. take care and have a great xmas!
