Hi guys,
I am brand new here, but I've been searching all over the internet and can't find and answer to my question. Here's the deal, I have had problems with anorexia over the past 8 yrs. My weight has gone up and down, and for the past yr and 1/2 I'd been eating normally, until just recently. I am really scared because I have all the symptoms of an underactive thyroid and my throat feels like it's going to explode! Could I have caused these problems for myself? And does anyone have any advice (besides like go to the dr.. i know that much).
Thanks!
Caitlin

I guess my best advice is try to learn from your past experience.
The anorexia didn't work for you in the past, why should it work now?
And yes, going to the doctor is a good idea, it's completely understandable that you
don't want to see one, I hate doing that myself...
I don't really know if it's something you caused, but it can't be good to keep doing that. Try to understand that nothing good can ever come out of anorexia.

I have thyroid problems, and have been on meds for about a year or more now. I wouldn't mess around with it. Instead of worring about what caused it, just go in and get it straitened out.
There are so many people with thyroid problems. I don't know if there is any one thing that could of caused it.
But, you know I didn't have any problems with my thyroid until I lost weight. I lost 40lbs. and then had thyroid problems and cholesterol problems. Before the weight loss I didn't have problems with either one.
So, as you see, who knows what caused it.
