As far as weight goes I'm notionally trying to gain and one of my challenges is the ever-present fear of gaining too quickly and not being in control
My other challenges are in terms of giving up my vices, exchanging short-term pleasure for long-term health. I have finally managed to give up sweets and all products with sugar in March (I still eat fruit, of course)
My next challenge is be prepared to let go of bread due to its high sodium content. I've already let go of most other high-sodium processed foods. Bread is not a daily feature in my diet but it does re-occur at intervals.
So my challenge is to act as if the long term results are more important than short term things

My main challenge is to keep in control and not "forget" my goal. I found calorie counting to be the best and maybe the only way I could maintain control over my diet for a long period of time.

It seems like my biggest challenge is getting into the right mindset to start with. I have to get pumped up and make up my mind I'm going to do it.
Sometimes it takes a couple of false starts to get going. Then once I do, every day gets a little easier because I don't want to start all over again, and because you start getting used to eating less.
Obviously I've done this several times , so keeping the weight off long term is whole different kind of challenge.
