Ok, so I'm confused...
People say, don't eat "too few" calories. But, in my experience, eating 800 (give or take 200) helped me loose the 60 pound extra "baby weight" I had. (I was/am also working out 3-4 x's a week- for an hour)
I'm eating about 1200- 1500 a day now, and not loosing, but not gaining. So, it seems like, I burn about 1200-1500 cals a day and that very low cal amount above is what I need to be eating while I'm loosing weight!
So, if I keep at 1200- 1500, will it start coming off, since that sounds more healthier, or does it sound like 800ish calories is where I need to be to loose?
Thank you!

800 calories a day will work for a while and then you will hit a plateau, because 800 calories is too little for anyone to be eating. I learnt the hard way!
You need to use the calculators to find out what your unadjusted RMR is. This is the amount you should eat if you want to lose weight. Your maintenance(amount of calories to consume if you want to maintain current weight) is generally 500 or so calories higher than this.

| Do you exercise, and what kind of foods are in these 1200 calories. it is recommended to eat more fiber, veggies, fruits and water. I add coffee too becasue it helps with the hunger. i can loose 2-3 pounds a day with this diet. and on my bad days when i have 2000 calories, i gain 2 pounds. What is your weight because sometimes you have to work extra hard if your weight stable and normal.

hey there!
yeah, it would help to know you weight, age, height, and activity level- then we can find out about how many you should be consuming. also, did you just suddenly jump from 800 per day to 1200-1500? if that's the case, it doees take you body a while to adjust and instead you should gradulay raise your cals- adding around 100-200 each week.
keep in mind, you could also be gaining muscle, especially if you are doing weights and increased your eating. essentially, it's like "feeding" the muscle, which makes them grow- and this is a good thing!
you must ask yourself- do you want to live on 800 calories and still maintain the amount of exersice you do forever? i don't know about you, but i certainly wouldn't. you will then gain a lot easier when you go over on your cals. losing weight is great- congrats on the loss- but it is best to lose and be able to use it as a basic way of life. you can really harm your metabolism if you go too low and if you would like to lose more, you really have no room for sutting cals, so you would have to increase your exersize. it's something you have to consider.
if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!
take care!
