hi everybody,I'm new to this site and thought I'd introduce myself.  My name is Denice and I'm 29 yrs old.  I've been dieting since August( taking december and January off).  I started out at 185 and now I'm at 154.  I was following an old weight watchers program.  My problem is that I've hit a major plateau.  Nothing I do seems to make the scale budge and I'm getting so frustrated.   Usually for breakfast I eat toast(2) and peanut butter.   Lunch is a ham and cheese sandwich, apple and banana, and a 100 calorie pack.  Dinner is 4 0z of meat and a vegatable, sometimes a side salad.  If I'm at work I'll have subway or a healthy choice, lean cuisune dinner and fruit.  Snack is usually cereal and milk.  I've recently started keeping trck of my calories.  Usually it's about 1600 calories.  My exercise constists of at least 30 mins 6days a week.  I had been doing leslie sansones walking off weight ( usually 2.5 miles) and 2 days of weights (1 day abs and arms, other day abs and legs).  Recently I haven't been doing the walking tape but doing the stationary bike or the treadmill. If anybody has an advice for me, it would be greatly appreciated.  I hope I have supplied enough  info.  Thank You.

I'm assuming that 1600 is typical rather than an "upper limit" and that you have not been through a period of over-restriction.

This being the case [and despite not supplying your height] it appears that your calories are probably not too low. Well they'd be on target if you were sedentary, arguably you might wish to increase by 100-200 given your level of exercise.

What else might you want to do to fine-tune your efforts?

You might like to consider the amount of protein you're getting. I would aim for 105g to 126g per day - so boost protein on those meals that don't feature it prominently (such as your breakfast).

Consider splitting your eating so you're eating 5 or 6 smaller meals and consider eating more vegetables.

thank you for the advice.  Sorry I forgot my height- 5'2".  I have so say that I didn't think I exercised that much.  I always feel that I should do more.  It's hard for me to eat more often because I work full time. ( 9 hr days 5 days a week)  I only take a 1hr lunch half way through, no other breaks.

Ok, perhaps 1600 is about right. Would you be allowed a short bathroom or drink break at any point during your 4-hour-long work shifts? You could use that to sneak in a bit of eating, perhaps?
