As I sit here reading some of the posts on this forum, I must say that I am quite saddened by the contradictory information available to the public regarding nutrition, weight loss, health, etc..
If you want to lose weight, shift your mindset. Think, OPTIMAL HEALTH! If you think of food as nourishment, not as something that will make you "fat" the result will be a healthy body/mind and weight loss will be the bonus. The only, I repeat, the ONLY way to do this is eat WHOLE foods (vegetables, whole grains, and fruit) and ditch the packaged, canned, bagged, and boxed processed "food." There is no magic pill, magic, diet, etc.. Our bodies treat processed food as foreign substances therefore creating inflammation which, in-turn, causes our organs to work harder to rid the toxins found in processed food. When our bodies start working so hard to expel these toxins, the result is low energy, weight gain, digestive issues, depression, skin problems, sickness, chronic illness, and the list goes on...
Eat 3 meals a day, none of this 6 mini meal American made hype. Eating 6 mini meals WILL NOT increase your metabolism, only your waistline. The only way to increase metabolism is exercise. Your daily food intake should be at least 50% raw vegetables (try eating a salad before every meal), as cooked food decreases the nutritional content. Vegetables have natural enzymes that aid in digestion so the nutrients are absorbed efficiently without a lot of work. This keeps your blood sugar stable and gives you sustained energy.
Basically, eat whole foods and you'll never have to count calories! Ever heard of Volumetrics? Eat MORE, weigh LESS. It's really quite simple, look it up. I wish you all the best.
To your health!
xx Lindsay
