Hey guys im new to the forums and joined because i think i am over dieting and have become too skinny. About 2 years ago i weighed 375 pounds and now i am down too 195. I lost all this weight by completely turing around my eating habbits and working a full time job as a resaraunt manager. My problem is i obbsess about everything i put in my mouth and everyone i know tells me i do not consume enough calories, but i am just too afraid to go back the other way with my eating. Any suggestions would be great thanx.

You did not give your height so I can't figure out your BMI. Certainly if your BMI is less than 18.5 you are underweight and should gain weight (otherwise your friends may just be unhelpful).

On the other hand, to the extent that this is causing distress and disruption to your life, ("i obbsess about everything i put in my mouth") you should definitely strive to do better. For example I regularly visit http://www.happyeaters.net where people learn to 'eat normal' again and let go of their dieting obsession (ideally whilst retaining their positive transformations).

I used to calorie-count every mouthful and now I have greatly simplified what I do. I am still a healthy 125-128lb (at 5'5") so it can be done.

(The key is to recognise that you would like to change.)

So your BMI has reduced from a 'morbidly obese' 43.3 to a 'normal' 22.5 (normal is between 18.5 and 24.9)

Of course, BMI does not tell the whole picture. Body fat percentage is much more telling - read http://www.thelegacywebsite.com/tutorial_composition.php

BMI 22.5 could be middle-of-the-road normal, or it might be a person with lots of muscle and hardly any fat who therefore looks very well defined (and this type of composition does indeed require a lot of "obsessing" to hold on to, it's a fact of life)
