Hello,
I am a graduate student at Bowling Green State University working with a research team that is exploring the experiences of overweight/obese individuals.
You are invited to participate in a study about experiencing stereotypes. Some questions will ask about the types of negative experiences you had when (if) you felt that you could confirm a stereotype about yourself. This study is being done to examine how individuals experience types of stereotypes and if they identify with a group that has been stigmatized. Several demographic questions will also be asked including age, race, sexual orientation, height, weight, etc. You will also be asked to recall an instance where you felt you could be stereotyped and will be asked to answer questions about the frequency of which you have experienced stigmatization. You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
If you wish to volunteer, you will be asked to complete questionnaires that will require approximately 20 minutes of your time. If you complete all the study questionnaires, you will have the opportunity to be entered into a random drawing to receive one of three Amazon.com gift cards (1 $50 and 2 $25 gift cards). Your answers to the questionnaires are completely anonymous and will be used only for this research.

Thanks for posting this! I would love to be a part of this study. Are there any requirements as to who can join? I've been losing weight so I don't qualify as obese anymore, but still am a little overweight...
