Since it's summer, thought it might be fun and useful to share our trips for losing weight on vacation. My kind of travel's definitely budget class your your milage may vary. If I had a first class travel budget it would be easier since vacation would mean a stay at some luxe weight loss spa like Canyon Ranch (A girl can dream!)

.)Book a room with a fridge. This is essential.
.)While you're planning your trip, use Google maps to find grocery stores in walking difference to the hotel. Most upscale grocery stores have great salad bars, and some even have breakfast bars where you can buy scrambled eggs, oatmeal etc for a lot less than restaurants or room service. At worst it's a place to grab bagged ready to eat veg, ready cooked protein like rotisserie chicken and fresh fruit. I usually get yogurt, too- if I know I can go back to the room for berries and Greek yogurt I can resist any dessert!

.) You know that old saying how important Breakfast is? When you're sight-seeing that's doubly important. In my experience, a low carb high protein breakfast keeps me going even if we don't want to take the time/money out to stop for lunch. I'd recommend going easy on the fat though. You don't want to suddenly need to find a restroom.

.) If theres's a farmer's market in town, make it one of your tourist stops. Especially in Seattle!!!

.) Think about your trip in experiences not necessarily the eating and the shopping. Once again, Google maps is your friend. Citypass is also extremely useful! citypass.com.

.)When you are eating out try to keep it as simple as possible: Protein , veg , salad. The more sauces, infusions ,etc the more likely it is to be a calorie bomb.

.) Airports and theme parks. Bring your own food and expect the worst. If something does show up, awesome. If not, it's not going to ruin the day.
