Hello, I am new to this forum, but wanted to know what you all think.
I have never really had much of a weight problem. However, I gave birth to my son four months ago, so naturally I have gained weight. I went from 105 lbs (at 5'2") to 150 lbs by the time I gave brith.
I have never had much of an appetite, so while watching what I ate slightly, I have been steadily losing weight, and am now down to 130 lbs.
Last night though my husband brought up (for the second time) that although he has noticed that I am getting smaller, he says I am maintaining basically the same shape, and have lost "a ton" of weight in my chest an butt. (I don't really think my chest is really much smaller than it ever has been. But with the extra weight and the fact that I stopped breatfeeding a couple months ago they aren't exactly *enormous* anymore... So I'm really not sure if he's comparing this to what I have been lately or what they have always been).
Anyways, he feels that I should eat more often (healthy meals) and start exercising to get in shape, which I agree with.
What I'm not sure I agree with is that he insists that if I do this I can lose weight, but still maintain my chest and my butt. It has been my impression (as well as expirience) that when women lose weight, they tend to lose it in their chest and butt first, and though you can tone up certain areas with exercise, unfortunately you can't control which areas you will lose weight in.
He's claiming though to have read in a fitness magazine that this is possible.
Am I wrong? Is it really possible to maintain your shape, while getting in shape? If so how?
Or is he just full of it?

There is some truth here.
People who exercise (and in particular, resistance training) whilst losing weight tend to lose more fat and less muscle and so improve their body composition. At the other extreme, those who do not exercise might end up as smaller versions of their original selves (sometimes referred to as 'skinny fat')
When you lose fat, you cannot control where it goes (the pattern is influenced by genetics - the type of thing that determines whether you are 'pear', 'apple' or any other fruit...)
but targeting specific muscle groups can improve their appearance - for example 'flies' or push ups target your chest; squats and lunges target your butt.
do you have some pre-pregnancy pictures to help remind you and him of your original proportions and curves?
giving birth does sometimes change a woman's shape.

Your abdominal muscles may never go back to normal but chances are they will. You are still 25 pounds over your usual weight and that much fat on a short woman really shows.
Your butt will go back to normal but it may widen due to changes in the bones but that could look hot. My friend's wife had a teddy bear shape but after she had kids her figure got better.
Hubby needs to be patient and so do you. You can safely lose a pound a week and that will give your skin a chance to go back to normal.
Puraria Mirafica is an herb that will make your breasts larger and firmer. Push up and reclined and inclined dumbell presses will also make your chest bigger.
Don't panic and don't be in to much of a rush.

If you want to get your hubby off your back go to Wal-Mart with him and you will see 100's of fat women... I mean really fat. We're talking morbidly obese. Stand next to one of them or have him snap a candid photo of you next to one of these behemoths.
You are a bit overweight and chances are you will get back to a healthy weight.

I think that your husband should really accept you for who you are. If you want to lose that weight do it for yourself first! You are the one that just gave birth to your child not him. This is coming from a man that has always excepted his wife at any size or weight. Like the new saying goes...do you!

Thank you all for your advice and encouragement.
It's hard work, but I'm slowly getting back to my goal weight. I'm still finding it hard though to find time to workout with my schedule but I'm getting my friend to go with me to workout next week and we're trying to make it a routine. So hopefully I'll get there soon!

There are exercise programs that help you work all your target areas. But first, you must consult your doctor to check if your body can handle strenuous work-out.
Take exercise easy, but exercise everyday. Don't stress your body just because your husband want your figure back. Just take it slow. Start with low force workouts until your body gets used to exercising again.
It will take sometime, but it is possible to get back in shape. Don't give up! Get your body back!

It is a known fact that to lose weight naturally people would try to go for diet with exercise or sometimes just diet. But to tone your body or bringing it up in shape, the only way is to go for exercises. Try women push up for firming your chest and squatting for butt. But also go for healthy diet like bring up your calories from 1200 to 1300-1400.
