I absolutely love desserts! You can take all the pizza and burgers you want, just hand me some chocolate. Trying to give up high calorie desserts (brownies, chocolate muffins, ect.) has definitely been the hardest thing for me so far. I'm finding that it's impossible to give up sugary things altogether, so I've been trying to substitute them for somewhat healthier sweets.
Does anyone have any suggestions? So far I've been eating:
-Individual pudding packs
-Caramel rice cakes
Occasionally:
-Meringues (my friends love them, but I'm not crazy about the texture. Or the taste.)
-Sugar-free Jello (They're just ok... I prefer something with chocolate!)

I know these aren't the best things for a diet, but an individual pudding must be better than 3 servings of Triple Chocolate Ice cream :)

1) individual versions or smaller servings

2) switch from caloric sweeteners (like sugar, honey, syrup) to non-calorie sweeteners (artificial ones) and make your own versions of things

your mention of Meringues reminded me that a few years back I was determined to make Meringue shells (normal ingredients: egg whites and sugar) substituting granulated artificial sweeteners for the sugar

3) if your love chocolate - learn to love Cocoa Powder. This is the essence of chocolate and yet a healthy ingredient.

A combination of #2 and #3 can make anything chocolate-flavoured.

The end-game (ideal end result) is to eventually curb your sweet tooth so that you are satisfied with fruit for the odd sweet treat but no-one says you have to get there next week.

I think the things you are eating are fine. I use a lot of artificial sweetner without any physical problems, and I feel no guilt about doing so. In my personal, recreational blog at DietHobby, I have started posting recipes along with videos and pictures, and lots of them are sweet tasting. You might get some ideas there.  I'm not putting a link here, but the address is easy. You can find it by typing in www and then just the words diethobby.com.

Considering I'm the absolute opposite and will take pizza, burgers, crisps, cheese (you name it, the saltier the better) over chocolate or sweets any day, I'm not sure how helpful my advice will be but here goes:

You haven't even mentioned eating fruit; while it's still very high in sugar and calories it is also really good for you, so if you're going to eat something sweet, try and make it fruit. If you really want chocolate, you could always melt some in a pan and then coat pieces of fruit in it, then you get the best of both worlds.

Also do you like dark chocolate? If so, try and eat this rather than milk or white chocolate. Not only is it very, very good for you, but it's also more intense in flavour and should reduce those chocolate cravings more quickly.

And contrary to what other people have said - don't use artificial sweetners. They are very bad for your health (and have even been shown to increase hunger). Just do some research on aspartame - it doesn't look good and it's pretty obvious that natural is nearly always going to be better.

I am more of a fan of eating smaller amounts of the real thing (sugar) than going to chemicals.  I'm not psycho against chemicals or anything, but I just am a fan of moderation.

We have the same favorites in term of food. I love burger, pizza and any desserts thats so sweet. I know its not good for losing weight, so I did sacrifice all of them to concentrate on my goal.
