Well, first of all, ive always had love handles for as long as i can remember, i recently moved to the south and now eat a ton of fried foods. recenty, this winter, i have gained about 20 lbs. Ibecause its winter out, i hide my fat gut under sweaters. Summer is about to be here and i would love to lose about 60 lbs, notmal weight is about 195 and currently weigh about 250. This being said. I have put together in my head a routine that i am going to try and stick with.

 

When i get up, first thing, cardio 30 minutes

meal 1: oatmeal, no sugar, maybe sme sweet n low

meal 2: protein shake meal suppliment

meal 3: can of either albacore tuna in water, apple, maybe some carrots

meal 3: protein shake meal supp

meal 4: maybe some fruit or tuna or salad with vinigar dressing no oil

 

is something like this doable? the meals will be about 3 hours apart from one another.

Also, how long am i looking at to lose about 60 lbs?

 

@ about 3-4 a week, i think im looking at about 20 weeks, give or take a few. I was really hoping to lose about 20-30 lbs in 2 months

If you stick to exactly what you wrote down there, without cheating...you should lose 12-15 lbs a month I would think.

Are you able to quanify the calories on that?  Seems like you'd be eating too few calories and may end up starving.

From my reading experience, although I'm no expert, it seems you might be looking at loosing muscle weight doing this.  You may end up looking skinnier, but you'd be better off losing less weight, gaining muscle, and trying to lose only fat.  This plan may end up sabatoging you long term, as when you do try to get in shape, you'll have lost muscle that would have helped you long term.  Are you interested in weight training?

Sounds like an OK start with a few exceptions.

Your weight loss is realistic. 10 pounds per month is doable and reasonable at your current weight.

Keep in mind a teaspoon of sugar is only 16 calories. That is not going to break your diet.

You are eating around 4100 calories to maintain 250 pounds but because you have been gaining you are eating a heck of a lot more than 4100.

You need to cut back to around 2700 and that will cause an initial minimum weight loss of 2.5 pounds per week.

I would suggest lot's of fruits and vegetables and try to eat most of them raw. Whole grains, lean meats, fish and dairy.  Get 65 - 70 percent of your cals from complex carbs. Lift weights every other day. when you are 10 pounds from your goal do cardio and weights. Your maintenance calories will be about 3000 calories depending on your activity level.

Southern cuisine is quite vulgar.

Protein: During the weightloss process go for .5 to 1 gram per pound of body weight.

.5 - 1 grams is also good if you are active. One rule of thumb with protein is to not eat a whole lot in one sitting. protein is tough to digest. It will suppress appetite.


Calories: Eat at your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

Nutritional cleansing is a scam! They sell you a bunch of herbs and 10 times he usual cost and make unsubstantiated and unproven claims about toxins leaving the body. It is another buy your way thin rip off. 

It's a twist on the colon cleansing scam.

totally agree.  eat fiberous foods, drink lots of water.  your body is pretty good at house cleaning if you put fruits and veggies and water in.  they are the cheapest and most natural cleansers out there.  they are safe and effective. it also helps if you don't put bad stuff in there in the first place.  once you stop feeding yourself the stuff you know you shouldn't be, you will be clean! :)

i've looked at all of that stuff before.  it gets kinda gross on the internet.  people show pics of literally their #%@&!.  well, when you find out that they are crapping out this stuff because the things in the powders and supplements and whateverelse is actually caused because of the way these things combine with each other, you realize how much of a gimmick it really is.  this is just personal experience.  trust me, i've research A LOT of this type of thing.

if you feel you HAVE to get a product, get psyllium  powder.. and drink a lot of water.  it's more effective than any pill or over priced supplement out there.  even better, eat oatmeal.  oatmeal (not the sugar filled "in little packet" type.  i eat the 3 minute oats with blueberries and cinnamon and a tad of stevia or honey) and about 16 oz. of water.  it'll clean you out right quick.

and sorry, some people are predisposed to have love handles.  no matter how thin i get, i always have this certain part of me that's puggier than i want.  cant do a whole lot about it.  just like i can't help that i have brown eyes rather than blue. Just like i have a short waist when i would love to have a longer one... so it goes....
