Soaked half a bag of navy beans last night, then rinsed and boiled in water. I added chunks of turkey ham, onions, garlic, salt and pepper.
Then I just let it cook down until the beans were done and it was the right consistency.
I usually have this on new years day, (tradition is that you won't go hungry all year long if you have this, lol) made with real ham and a ham bone. I also make dumplings and corn bread. But, wanting to be low calories, I skipped all that and went for the turkey ham..
